Currently, Jan Hajny deals with privacy-enhancing cryptographic systems. His research is focused on the design of new authentication protocols, credential schemes, and privacy-protection systems. Jan is also responsible for IT infrastructure benchmarking, stress testing, security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.

Privacy-Enhancing Technologies & Hardware-Accelerated Cryptography
Lukas Malina deals with applied cryptography, system security, and network security. His research activities focus on the design and application of privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols, post-quantum cryptography, and hardware-accelerated cryptography. Lukas is also responsible for the implementation of cryptographic protocols and schemes as „proof of concept“ applications on various devices such as constrained microcontrollers, smart devices, and FPGA-based platforms.

Zdenek Martinasek deals with applied cryptography, system security, and network security. Currently, he works also on penetration testing and stress testing. His research activities focus on side-channel cryptanalysis. The biggest expertise is in power analysis attacks based on machine learning.
Petr Dzurenda (dzurenda@vut.cz, WWW)
Privacy-Enhancing Technologies
Petr Dzurenda is a postdoctoral researcher at Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic. His research is focused on privacy-enhancing technologies, cryptographic protocol design, and protocol implementation on constrained devices in the IoT area. He is the author and co-author of several new privacy-friendly solutions and cryptographic schemes, such as group signatures and anonymous credentials, which are practically implementable on current smart cards.

Sara Ricci is a postdoctoral researcher at Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic. She accomplished her M.Sc. degree in Mathematics at University of Pisa, Italy in 2015 and her Ph.D. studies in Computer Engineering and Mathematics Security at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Spain in 2018. Her research interests are theoretical cryptography, in particular lattice-based and elliptic curve cryptography, and data privacy and security. She is also focused on the design of new privacy-preserving cryptographic protocols and their security analyses.

Petr Jedlicka is a Ph.D. student at Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic. He accomplished his Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Technologies at the Department of Radioelectronics at Brno University of Technology. As a Ph.D. student, he is currently focused on the optimization and implementation of post-quantum cryptosystems.

Michael Jurek is a Ph.D. student at Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic. He accomplished his Master’s degree in Information Security at Brno University of Technology. As a Ph.D. student, he is currently focused on anomaly detection in computer networks. His research interests are mitigation of (D)DoS and Slow DoS attacks using machine learning techniques, computer networking, cryptography, and network security.

Raul Casanova Marques is a joint-Ph.D. student at Brno University of Technology (BUT) and Universitat Jaume I (UJI), working as an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) within the A-WEAR project. He is currently involved as a researcher in several scientific projects focused on novel cryptographic protocols for attribute-based authentication, privacy protection mechanisms of users in electronic systems and secure algorithms on wearable devices.

Yehor Safonov is a Ph.D. student in the Information Security doctoral program at Brno University of Technology. He is also an employee of AEC a.s. company and works as a Security Specialist focusing on the design and implementation of SIEM-type security monitoring solutions for large computer infrastructures. The pillars of his interests are computer security, cryptography, theoretical computer science and modern machine learning techniques.
